Two pedestrians were killed and three others injured after being hit by a covered van in Shreekola intersection area under Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Rubel, 25, son of Saiful Islam and Faraj Ali, 45, hailing from the area.

Shahjahan Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station, said the Pabna-bound covered van hit the victims on Bogura-Nagarbari Highway at 7:00am, leaving the duo dead on the spot and three others injured.

The injured were taken to a local hospital.
